Ideally situated near the busy market town of Morogoro, Simbamwenni Lodge is the place to stay if you are on business in town, looking for a short visit to Mikumi National Park, a walk in the Uluguru mountains to see some of the most exciting endemic bird species in Tanzania, or an expedition into the Udzungwe game reserve to see red colobus monkeys, or just want to get away from city life, without leaving it too far behind
Located within 10 minutes of the Centre of Morogoro town, Simbamwenni Lodge is set within 6 acres of peaceful park-like tropical gardens, along the Ngerengere river. Big mature trees and flowering shrubs abound, while we are striving for self-sufficiency with a varied kitchen garden, coconut palms, bananas and a variety of citrus trees.
Simbamwenni, named after the city-state on the Ngerengere river visited by Henry Morton Stanley during his expedition in search of Dr. Livingstone, is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable accommodation for individuals and groups who are looking for a secure, comfortable stop-over location near some of the most important eco-tourist attractions on the Southern Circuit in Tanzania.
